Rodolfo Sabbatini

One of the foremost promoters in Italy and Europe for over two decades, Sabbatini began his life in boxing as a sports journalist.

 

In 1965 he started his career as a full-fledged boxing promoter staging shows throughout Italy. He soon branched out and ran shows all over Europe, Latin America and the United States. Among the boxing stars he promoted are Nino Benvenuti, Carlos Monzon, Victor Galindez, Danny Lopez, Rodrigo Valdez, Eusebio Pedroza, Vicente Saldivar and Johnny Famechon.

 

Sabbatini was also once an associate of Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum.

 

Well respected as an international promoter for his honesty and ability as a promoter, Sabbatini died at age 58 on January 6, 1986.
