Annual Hall of Fame Weekend celebration set for June 5 - 8
CANASTOTA, NY –APRIL 22, 2025 - The International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum is pleased to announce that Hall of Famer “The Coal Miner’s Daughter” Christy Martin will participate in 2025 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend festivities set for June 5-8 in “Boxing’s Hometown.”

“With her all-action ring style, Christy Martin endeared herself to boxing fans and thrilled audiences around the world,” said Hall of Fame director Edward Brophy. “The Hall of Fame is so happy that she is returning to Canastota in June.”
Martin turned pro in 1989 and her skill and aggressive style made her the face of women’s boxing and landed her on the cover of the April 15, 1996 Sports Illustrated. During her career, the 5’4 ½ ” Martin won the WBC super welterweight championship in 2009 and compiled a 49-7-3 (31 KOs) pro record that includes wins over Dierdre Gogarty, Melinda Robinson, Belinda Laracuente, Andrea DeShong, Isra Girgrah, Kathy Collins, Mia St. John and Dakota Stone among others. She remains in the sport as CEO of Christy Martin Promotions. Martin was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020.
The Class of 2025 to be honored includes boxers Manny Pacquiao, Vinny Paz, Michael Nunn, Yessica Chavez, Anne Sophie Mathis, Mary Jo Sanders, Cathy “Cat” Davis, Rodrigo Valdez (posthumous), Owen Swift (posthumous), referee Kenny Bayless, cut man Al Gavin (posthumous), referee Harry Gibbs (posthumous), broadcaster / journalist Randy Gordon and television producer Ross Greenburg.
