Following a successful amateur kickboxing career, Holm began boxing professionally in 2002 in her hometown, launching an 11-year career that culminated in 14 world titles in three weight divisions (junior welterweight, welterweight and junior middleweight). Trained by Mike Winkeljohn, Holm was a consummate boxer with quick combinations and movement. The 5’8” southpaw authored an impressive record against world champions, going 14-1-1 over titleholders including such standouts as Christy Martin, Anne Sophie Mathis, Diana Prazak, Mary Jo Sanders, Jane Couch, Chevelle Hallback, Belinda Laracuente, Mia St. John and Jaime Clampitt. Among the many accolades she earned throughout her championship career include 2005 and 2006’s “Female Fighter of the Year” by The Ring magazine. While still boxing, Holm made her mixed martial arts debut in 2011.
“The Preacher’s Daughter” retired from boxing in 2013 with a record of 33-2-3 (9 KOs) and, after hanging up her boxing gloves, pursued MMA full time, competing in Bellator MMA and Legacy Fighting Championship before joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2014 and stopping Ronda Rousey for the bantamweight title in 2015.
